Every week the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department conducts supervised training evolutions that test the knowledge, skills, and education of our members. We have designated every Monday night as our company drill night.

As units were departing, station 1 was alerted for a commercial tractor on fire. Chief 1, Engine 11, and Engine 14 responded with a total of 12 volunteers. Chief 1 and Engine 11 arrived on location with a fire in the engine compartment of the tractor. Engine 11s crews deployed the front pumper line, extinguishing the fire in seconds. Engine 14 was advised to stage on the hard surface, they were later put in service.

As Engine 11 and chief 1 were cleaning the fire scene, they were advised to start towards the Leonardtown library for a motor vehicle accident, with reports of a motorcycle VS car. Squad 1 responded from the station, as they were the first arriving unit. Squad 1 under the supervision of chief 1A held established the command and advised fireboard, to hold it with a single ambulance, squad 1, and the medic unit.

Later in the evening Engine11, Engine 14, and Truck1, headed to Rosebank Ct to conduct several evolutions which consisted of preforming ventilation cuts in the roof, breaching walls, and conducting a below grade rescue, with an injured firefighter down in the basement. Several members were able to train on ladder placement, and saw usage. In the interior of the structure members were able to practice breaching techniques, and have a little fun while doing so. After breaching several walls members were able to conduct a firefighter down in the basement training. Each Team was given a scenario, in which they had to extract the firefighter from the basement using a rigging system. After, a busy Monday night the Officers that conducted the training were very satisfied with the knowledge and education of its members that participated.

Members were woken back up at 2:42 A.M Tuesday morning to assist a first due resident with a flooding condition in the basement. Chief 1 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 6. Truck 1s crew secured the leak, and conducted minor water removal from the residents.
