Two Flown from Afternoon MVA

On Friday July 13th at 1524 hrs. companies 1, 19, 79, and the Medic Unit were alerted to Rescue Box 1-09 at the intersection of Point Lookout Rd. & Merchants Ln. for the Motor Vehicle Accident with subjects trapped. A member of Company 1 was on location advising he had 3 subjects trapped and to start the Helo. Chief 1 responded immediately after the dispatch and was advised there was 2 pediatrics and one adult trapped in one of the vehicles and were not sure of the injuries.
Chief 1 arrived on location at 1525 hrs. and established the Pint Lookout Rd. Command. Chief 1 then advised Squad 1 whom also responded shortly after the dispatch that there would be subjects trapped and the most serious patient was in the rear of the vehicle on the passenger side. The medic unit and Squad 1 arrived on location and went to work on extricating the patients and starting patient care. Engine 12 also responded to handle the landing site for Trooper 7. After assesing all the patients the Medic advised command there would be 2 to be flown, 1pediatric and 1 adult. The 3 ambulances arrived on the scene and assited with patient care and obtained a refusal from the driver of the other vehicle.
All 3 patients were extricated within 10 mins. and turned over to awaiting EMS crews and the Flight Medic off Trooper 7. Trooper 7 flew 2 of the 3 patients and the other was transported to St. Mary's Hospital. Command was terminated and units were back in Quarters at 1602 hrs.
