The members of LVFD invite you and your family to join in on the fun and festivities at the Annual Christmas on the Square and Tree Lighting to be held on Friday November 27, 2009, from 5 pm to 9 pm in downtown Leonardtown (rain date is Nov.28). This is a great free community event sponsored by LVFD, the Town of Leonardtown, and the Leonardtown Business Association. For many years LVFD has proudly erected the town's Christmas Tree and ensured Santa's safe arrival into town to kick-off the holiday season. Each year the event continues to grow, and this year is no exception with LVFD and our other local surrounding fire departments providing fire truck rides. There will also be lots of holiday festivities including: caroling, entertainment, sleigh rides, horse and carriage rides, festival of trees, live nativity scene, petting zoo, classic cars on display, and much, much more to see and do. Local businesses and organizations will be selling food items, holiday treats, as well as hot chocolate and apple cider to help keep the chill off. LVFD is sponsoring a cash raffle which will be drawn during the night with the winner collecting a cool $1,500.00!! The second name drawn will recieve $1,000.00 and the third place winner will get $500.00 cold hard cash! Tickets are currently on sale and will also be available the night of the Tree Lighting at several locations around the town square for $2 each or 3 for $5. Winners do not have to be present to win. So, come on out, enjoy the festivities and take a chance or two and you could walk away with some extra holiday cash! Don't miss seeing Santa Claus himself arrive in Leonardtown and turn on the lights to our community Christmas tree!
