Working House Fire in Clements

On 1/4/10 at 0858 hours, Companies 1, 5, 2, 19 and 59 were alerted for a working house fire at 24010 Pin Cushion Rd. near Clements. First arriving units found a single story dwelling with heavy fire coming from side A. There were no occupants at the residence at the time of the fire. Engine 14 made the initial attack and contained the fire to the living room area of the residence. There was heavy smoke and heat damage through out the house and minor extension into the attic and adjacent rooms. Engine 51 supplied Engine 14 and the crews from Engine 51 and 24 assisted witht the fire attack and ventilation. Truck 7 arrived and their crew provided lighting, ventilation and overhaul as well as worked on the roof checking for extension. The fire was under control with in 20 minutes and units cleared the scene at 1017 hours. The fire was determined to have started around the wood stove and there were no injuries. The Red Cross was also contacted to assist the family. The incident was under the command of Chief 1(Trossbach).
