On Monday morning members of Company 1 were attending the funeral for Auxiliary Life Member Mary Jane Scully. While at the funeral, fireboard dispatched a 1st due house fire at 22758 Lawrence Avenue. Firefighters from Leonardtown and Hollywood responded seconds after dispatch from the funeral detail. Engine 51 filling in at Station 1, arrived on the scene of a 2 story duplex with a fire in the kitchen. Fireboard then upgraded the 1-12 box to a working fire. Moments after Engine 51 arrived on the scene and pulled the primary attack line, Truck 1 and Engine 72 were approaching the scene awaiting instructions. Truck 1’s crew was tasked with setting up multiple ground ladders, ventilation, and primary research. Engine 72’s crew pulled a secondary line to the rear of the structure, as the backup line. The remainder of 72’s crew assisted Truck 1’s crew. Chief 1A held the Lawrence Ave Command. There were no injuries reported. Units cleared the scene and reported back to the funeral detail.
