On May 23rd, Members, Friends, and Family joined together at Cryer's BackRoad Inn, in beautiful downtown Compton for the 1st annual softball tournament hosted by Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department. The tournament bought in teams from 5 Departments from St. Mary's County. Teams were randomly picked and placed into a double elimination, bracket style tournament with the first game starting at 9am. The day was enjoyed by all, with fun competition and great entertainment provided from the players during the games. At the end of the day the championship game was set, matching up Leonardtown and Seventh District. All games were hard fought and great to watch. Leonardtown would like to send a big congratulation’s to Seventh District fire for pulling out the win and being the first annual champions.

We would like to thank all the teams that participated along with all their families who joined us. We would like to send a special thank you to Jim Cryer for all of his donations and help to allow us to put on this tournament. As always it is great to see the county volunteers come together and have a good time. Thank you to all members who helped plan and coordinate this event. We hope to see you all again next year!
