Squad and Engine Assist in the 7th

On Monday July 20th at 1324 hours, Squad 5, Squad 1, EMS Companies 59, 19 and ALS were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident reported serious in the area of 22664 Colton Point Road, in the area of Capt. Sams Store. Squad 1, Squad 5, and Chief 5A made the response and were advised a dump truck overturned with one person trapped. Chief 5A was first arriving and confirmed a single dump truck on its side, however the single occupant was out of the Vehicle. Chief 5A advised a helicopter would be needed Category "B" Priority 2.

Engine 11 made the response to handle the landing zone for Trooper 7. The patient was packaged by crews on scene and loaded into Ambulance 198 to transport to the landing zone. The roadway was temporarily closed due to the debris in the roadway from the dump truck overturning. State Highway made the response to the scene to assist with removal of debris.

Trooper 7 flew the patient to Prince George's Trauma Center. Engine 11 and Squad 1 assisted with securing of the dump truck and further clean-up of debris and fluids. Units were restored and returned to service when ready.
