On July 22nd, 2015 Company 1 along with EMS Companies 19, 79 were alerted to the intersection of Point Lookout Road, and Merchants Lane for the reported motor accident. Squad 1 (Capt. Watts) along with Engine 11 (FF Burris) responded with 7 volunteers. Units arrived on scene finding 3 vehicles still in the roadway. Crews quickly discovered that one patient was trapped; Capt. Watts established the Merchants Lane Command and requested a third ambulance for transport. Extrication group was established and went to work stabilizing the vehicle, patient, and gaining entry to the patient. Upon further patient assessment it was determined a Category "B" Priority 2 Fly-out would be required. Trooper 7 made the response and met the Ambulance at the Hospital for transport to the nearest trauma center. Crews wrapped up cleared the roadway of fluids and debris, assisted EMS crews with patient packaging and cleared the scene shortly after.
