One Extricated By Squad Crew

On November 11th, At 11:24 Hours Squad 1, Ambulance 196 and Ambulance 388 were dispatched to Fairgrounds Road, in the area of Cartwright Road for the reported motor vehicle accident. Squad 1 (Capt. Watts) along with Engine 11 (FF J. Trossbach) responded with 10 personnel. Responding units were advised they received reports of a single vehicle off the roadway, with the driver unable to feel their legs. Shortly after Rapid Responder 38C arrived on scene confirming a single vehicle with the operator trapped in the vehicle. Squad 1 then arrived on scene with Capt. Watts establishing the Fairgrounds Road command. The crew quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle, and deploying the hurst tools to extricate the operator. Engine 11 arrived shortly after and assisted with extraction of the operator and assisted with patient care. After a quick trauma assessment it was determined the patient would be a category "B" Priority 2 trauma patient. Syscom was contacted and advised helicopters were down due to weather. The patient was extricated from the vehicle and loaded into Ambulance 196, and the patient was then ground transported to PG Shock Trauma. Units operated on the scene for less than an hour, restored respected apparatus and returned to service shortly after.
