On December 20, 2015 at 23:20 hours, Companies 1, 5, 19, 59 and the Medic Unit were dispatched to the area of Budds Creek Road and Pin Cushion Road for a serious motor vehicle accident. The initial dispatch indicated a single vehicle was involved with entrapment and fire. Chief 1A (Bell), Engine 11 (Lt. Mattingly), Squad 1 (F/F Mattingly), and Truck 1 (Chief 1B Bell) responded shortly after dispatch.

While enroute, Fireboard advised that all occupants were out of the vehicle and that the vehicle was no longer on fire. Chief 5A was the first to arrive on the scene and confirmed that report. Chief 1A arrived next on the scene, established the command and requested two helicopters to transport two critically injured patients. Engine 11 arrived on the scene shortly after. The crew immediately began patient care and checked the car for fire.

Once the patients were stable, they were packaged and transported to the landing zone by ambulances from Company 19 and Company 59. Since there was no fire or entrapment, Engine 52 was diverted to Bowles farm to handle the landing zone. Trooper 2 was placed in service since Trooper 7 was able to transport both patients. The patients were then flown to local trauma centers. Once the helicopters were entroute to the hospital all crews restored their respective apparatus and returned to service. Company 1 units operated until 00:22 hours.
