Leadership Southern Maryland is a business focused program that conducts a nine month executive leadership mentoring program. We have, with the cooperation of MFRI, been coordinating a visit to the fire training center as part of their Public Safety Day for several years. We conduct this program annually at the request of the LSM leadership. Visitors are given a live fire demonstration and lecture outlining the fire and EMS system in Southern Maryland and the MFRI training program that our volunteers are provided. Tom Mattingly has been the liaison for the program for the Leonardtown VFD and has received outstanding support from Director Steve Edwards and Dan Stevens, Southern Maryland Regional Center Coordinator. Also attending was Gerald Gardiner from our department who was a graduate of the 2015 program. Our thanks to LSM for their interest in public safety and the opportunity to share some time with their 2016 class.
