Tractor Trailor into a Structure

At 0339 hours on Sunday, Station 1 and EMS 19 and 79 were alerted for a tractor trailer into a structure. Chief 1 was on location at 0344 with a tractor trailer jack knifed across the fuel pumps, taking out one pump and resting up against the building. Squad 1 and Engine 11 surveyed the damage and there were no leaks from the fuel pumps or the tractor trailer. The driver of the truck was checked out by ambulance 197 and ambulance 799 was placed in service.
SMECO was called to secure power and replace an electric pole that was cutoff carrying dual feeder lines. Approximately 8000 people were out of power for a short time while repairs were performed. SHA responded to remove snow and ice that was spread over the road from the incident and salted the roadway. Chief 1 held the Point Lookout Rd Command

At 1013 hours engine 11 returned to the scene to standby for the safe removal of the truck.
