Mega Mansion House Fire

At 1136 hours, Engine 7, Engine 1, Engine 83, Tanker 1, Tanker 9, Tanker 3, Truck 7, Tower 9, Rescue Squad 3, and EMS stations 79, 19 were alerted for a house fire at 45035 Smiths Nursery Road in Hollywood.

Tanker 14 and Engine 11 responded seconds after dispatch with 8 volunteers. While units were enroute, safety 7 arrived on location finding a 2 story single family home, which was approximately 6,000sqft with fire throughout. Captain 7, was next to arrival, establishing the Smith Nursery Road command. Captain 7 (command) requested a 2nd alarm. Engine 72 arrived on location stretching a 2 ½ attack line to the exterior on side “Bravo” and began an attack. Truck 7 arrived on location, and began setting up for ladder pipe operations right away. Tanker 74 arrived on location supplying Engine 72 with water, as there crew stretched a 2’ attack line to side Alpha.

Tanker 14 and multiple other units from the county arrived on location and set up a folding tank, to establish water supply. Tanker shuttles began; due to the fact the closest hydrant was over 10 minutes away. Tanker 14’s crew stretched a 350ft. 1 ¾ handline to side “Charlie” and began an exterior attack. Tanker 14s officer grabbed the high rise pack off of Engine 72, and extended Tanker 14’s handline to a 400ft line. During exterior fire attack, Tanker 14s crew, was also in charge of exposure control of a nearby shed.
Water supply 5 and boat 83 arrived on location and received a draft from the river. 4’ supply lines were hand jacket to the water supply point. Water supply 5, and boat 83, began supplying Truck 7, and Tanker 74. At this time units on the scene had a continuous water supply. At this time units had extensive overhaul, and remand on the scene for several hours hitting hot spots.
