On Saturday June 11, 2016 at 0947 hours Companies 1 (Leonardtown VFD), 2 (Mechanicsville VFD), 19 (Leonardtown VRS), 29 (Mechanicsville VRS) and the Medic Unit were dispatched to Route 5 in the area of the Motor Vehicle Administration for the motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

Squad 1 (Chief 1 - M. Bell), Engine 10 and Squad 2 responded shortly after dispatch. While enroute, responding units learned that the scene was actually further north in Loveville near Morganza. Shortly after, Squad 1, Engine 10, and Squad 2 arrived on the scene to find a two vehicle, head-on style collision with no entrapment. Chief 1 established the Point Lookout Road command and crews went to work stabilizing/packaging patients and securing the vehicles, one of which was leaking gas.

Due to the nature of the injuries to one of the patients, Maryland State Police Trooper 7 was requested for a flyout. Once stabilized, the patient was transported to the helicopter and then flown to a local trauma center. Engine 10 handled the landing site. The second patient was transported via ambulance to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital.

Once the vehicles were secured and the helicopter was enroute to the hospital, units cleaned up, restored their respective apparatus and cleared the scene after operating for approximately 45 minutes.
