At 1913 hours, Truck 1 (6 personal), Tanker 14 (6 personal), Chief 1, and Chief 1B responded to Gibson Road in Avenue for a reported house on fire. First arriving units found a one story single family home with fire throughout the structure. Units from company 5 deployed a handline to side alpha and began to work in an offense mode. Chief 1 arrived on location and was assigned to work with the first due Engine Company on fire attack. Truck 1 arrived on location and was assigned to assisting the engine companies on opening up and dropping the ceiling to get the majority of fire in the attic area. Truck 1 reported the primary search negative. Tanker 14 supplied the fire ground, until a continuous water supply was established by water supply 5. Tanker 14s crew deployed a backup line to side alpha and began assisting in fire attack in the “A/B” quadrant. Units from Leonardtown remained on the scene for roughly 3 house assisting in overhaul. Chief 5 held the command. 1 citizen and 2 firefighters were transported to SMH. All injuries were reported minor and doing well.
