First Due House Fire

At 1837 hours Engine 14 (4 personnel), Truck 1 (3 personnel), Engine 11 (5 personnel), squad 1 (3 personnel), Chief 1, Chief 1A, and Chief 1B responded to the 23500 block of Gallent Fox Way, in the Leonard’s Grant subdivision for a reported house fire. Chief 1 arrived on scene with a 2-story single family home with smoke showing. Chief 1 conducted a 360 report with two in the rear, walk up basement with nothing evident from side Charlie. Engine 14 arrived on scene securing their own water supply deploying a 1 ¾ handline to side alpha. Chief 7 arrived on the scene and was given the division 1 supervisor reporting heavy smoke conditions on division 1. Truck 1 arrived on location laddering the structure, with there crew assisting on division 1. Truck 1 also placed multiple fans and lights throughout the duration of the incident. Chief 1A arrived on the scene and was given the basement division supervisor with Engine 73, and Truck 7. At this time Chief 7B had cleared division 2 and the attic. Units from 1 and 7 continued to operate and found a fire in the unfinished portion on the basement. The fire had spread to the ceiling and floor trusses between the basement and division 1. Squad 1 was task with conducting a primary search of the residence which proved negative. Due to being out a position and on a call in the north end of the first due Engine 11 was tasked with RIT duties. Units from Leonardtown remained on the scene for approximately 2 hours conducting overhaul and assisting the home owner. Chief 1 held the Leonard’s Grant command.
