Crews Handle Extrication In The First

At 1715 Hours Company 1 along with Companies 2, 19 29 and the Medic were dispatched to the area of Point Lookout Road in the area of Loveville Road for the reported serious motor vehicle accident. Shortly after dispatch Squad 1 (LT. C. Bell) and Engine 10 (DFC M. Bell) went on the air with a total of 9 volunteers. While responding dispatched advised a Sheriff deputy was on the scene, advising a single patient that was trapped inside the vehicle. Squad 1 arrived on the scene and crews went to work quickly stabilizing the patient and vehicle for extrication. Engine 10 arrived and established command also advising the road would be shut down temporarily. The Crews from Squad 1, Squad 2 and Engine 10 worked quickly together to gain entry to the patient and extricate. Assessment of the patient determined a Helicopter would be required Category B Priority 2, to transport to a Trauma center. Trooper 7 was alerted and responded to just north of the scene were Engine 10 awaited there arrival. Ambulance 298 and the medic packaged the patient and transported to the landing zone. Crews restored their equipment and returned to service when ready.
