Squad And Engine Handle Overturned Dump Truck

On Tuesday October 7th Companies 1, 7, 19, 79, and ALS unit were dispatched to 22650 Cedar Lane Court, in the area of the medical arts building for a motor vehicle accident reported serious with entrapment. Shortly after dispatch Squad 1 (Lt. Wathen) responded with 4 volunteers. Squad 1 arrived on scene to find 3 vehicles involved including a single dump truck overturned onto anther vehicle, and established the Point Lookout Road command. After a assessment of the scene the operator of the dump truck was trapped inside of the dump truck. Squad crew quickly went to work to gain access to the trapped patient who was alert and conscious.

After further evaluation of the scene command held the 2 Transport units that were responding and the Medic that unit that was on scene, After a short period of time the trapped occupant was extricated from the vehicle and packaged for transport. A Total of 3 Patients were transported to St. Mary's Hospital. Squad 1 and Engine 11 remained on scene while the dump truck was turned upright and cleared shortly after.
