On January 21, 2015 at 1943 hours Engine Companies 5 and 1 along with Truck 1 and Company 59 were alerted to 38320 Collins Road for the reported Chimney Fire. Shortly after dispatch Engine 14 (Lt. Trossbach) and Truck 1 (Lt. Wathen) made the response with a total of 11 Volunteers. Engine 52 and Chief 5A arrived on scene finding a 2 story residence with nothing evident with, establishing the Collins Road Command. Upon initial investigation it appeared there was a fire contained to the chimney that the home owner had controlled prior to arrival. Command requested Engine 14 to stage on Hatchet Thicket Road and requested the Truck to proceed to the scene.

Truck 1 arrived on scene positioning on the Alpha / Delta corner of the residence. The crews quickly went to work throwing ground ladders to the residence and setting up the aerial to ladder the building. The roof division after investigation determined the chimney would have to be chained. Interior and the Roof division worked together to clear the chimney and remove any further hazardous that remained. Crews operated on scene for just over an hour, then restored their appropriate apparatus and returned to service.
