Mutual Aid to Calvert County With declared Mayday

At 22:19 hours Company 1 was added on the working fire dispatch mutual aid to Calvert County to Preston Drive for the working Garage fire. Squad 1 made the response with a total of 7 volunteers.

As Units from St. Leonard and Solomon’s arrived, finding a one story single family dwelling with fire showing from a detached garage, with extension into the house. As, St. Mary’s units Engine 73, 74, and 91, arrived they began stretching lines to the seat of the fire. Upon Rescue Squad 1’s arrival, a Mayday was declared, with two of Engine 91’s crew members, both were removed from the structure. Squad 1 arrived on location, splitting its crew up, half establishing the RIT group, while the others assisted with fire attack, and overhaul. Command held Rescue Squad 1 for the entire duration of the incident, to assist the fire marshal’s office, with their investigation. Engine 11 handled the fill-in at Solomon station 3.

At 05:14 hours Company 1 was alerted back to Calvert County for the Rekindle. Squad 1, and Truck 1 made the run for Leonardtown. Units arrived finding a 1 story single family with heavy fire. Rescue Squad 1 Established the RIT group, setting up ladders, and overhaul. Truck 1 arrived on location, but was later placed in service. Squad 1 arrived back home around 07:30 hours.

The officers and members of the Leonardtown fire department wish the crew members of Engine 91 a speedy recovery.
