At 0950 hours Rescue Squad (4 personnel), Engine 11 (4 personnel), Chief 1, and Chief 1A responded and operated in the 22600 block of Newtowne Neck Rd. While units were enroute communications notified responding units that they were upgrading the call to a trapped assignment. Units from Company 1 arrived finding a single vehicle into a tree. The driver was still in the vehicle however was not trapped. The patient was removed and turned over to EMS. Due to the patients injuries a helicopter was requested, and the patient was flown to the area trauma center. Engine 11 handled the landing zone. Chief 1 established the Newtowne Neck Rd command.
