Multiple Serious First Due Crashes

January 13, 2023

At 13:13 hours Rescue Squad 1 (6 personal), Engine 11 (3 personal), and Chief 1 responded and operated in the 22500 block of Newtowne Neck Rd. Chief 1 arrived on the scene finding a two vehicle accident with a driver trapped. Rescue Squad 1 arrived on the scene stabilizing the vehicle, and immediately began conducting a side walk remove of the drivers side. The patient was removed and turned over to EMS care. Engine 11 reported to the scene taking position to land the helicopter in a field next to the scene. Rescue Squad 7 assisted with extrication. Chief 1 held the Newtowne Neck Rd command.

While units were picking up St. Mary’s notified command of another MVA reported serious in Leonardtown. Chief 1 terminated command, reassigning Rescue Squads 1, and 7 to the accident in the 28800 block of Point Lookout Rd. Chief officers, and rescue Squads from Leonardtown and Hollywood arrived on scene finding a two vehicle accident with no entrapment. One patient was transported to the area hospital with minor injuries. Chief 1 held the Point Lookout Rd command.
